Dr. Parker Griffith is a Huntsville cancer physician and businessman who recently turned to politics. In 2004 he narrowly lost to incumbent Huntsville Mayor Loretta Spencer in his first bid for elected office. In 2006 he was successful in winning the election for Alabama Senate District 7, defeating Cheryl Baswell Guthrie who is also running for the AL-05 seat.
