Amen.
And he shall reign forever and ever. Rev. 11:15
And to think that you lefties get mad when we say you treat Obama like the messiah.
@Ben Don’t you know that this passage was prophesying Obama’s coming?
Isaiah 53:3-9
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
Lamah rag’shu goyim
Ul’umim yeh’gu rik?
(why do the heathens rage and the people imagine a vain thing)
Psalm 2 v 1
Reactionary, you and Vince are too much.
Ecclesiastes 10:2- A wise man’s heart is at his right hand; but a fool’s heart at his left.
Col 2:21 – Touch not; taste not; handle not
“And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.” Acts 4:32 KJV
“Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me… For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:22, 24
ZOMG SOCIALISM!!!!!
Taking scripture out of context can be fun!
@ AlabamaModerate Of course it is!
But then again, we could always quote in context, like such:
Ecc 5:2-3
2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.
3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.
Oh, additionally:
Rev 3:15-16
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Is God condemning moderates in that passage?
Of course He is! That would make perfect sense!
Of course, I’m sure that might damn Jesus Himself to hell… Considering that he was a religious leader, yet he consorted with some of the shadiest characters in Biblical literature, only healed SOME of the people, only raised SOME from the dead, and seemed to be quite passionate about some issues while being quite passive on others.
His take on divorce was also quite interesting. It was a sin, yet God had allowed it (through laws given by Moses) because He recognized the weakness of mankind. I would say that’s a rather reasonable and moderate position.
Jesus also had a rather interesting stance on taxes, now that I think about it. Maybe he was a liberal. Boo Jesus.
@Ben, “you lefties get mad”?
Conservatism: where irony goes to die.
You guys can find the chapter and verse for this: God hates figs!
And he’s not too fond of kids who make fun of bald people.
In Obama’s big religion speech during the campaign(the “I’m not a secret Muslim, I promise” speech), he said his favorite Bible verse was John 16:3.
I’m sure that this was just an honest a mistake, and that he actually meant John 3:16, but the actual text of John 16:3 is terribly interesting.
John 16:3
Jesus speaking, “And they will do these things, because they have not known the Father, nor me.”
“He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.” Proverbs 19:17
“If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered.” Proverbs 21:13
“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:17-18
Some of you guys need to read and understand verses like this. This is just a few of the over 100 verses dealing with our responsibility to the poor. See site below for more, or if you are Dale Jackson, you may not want to.

And yet, in all of those verses, nowhere is government mentioned.
Fact: I can be generous with my own possessions, but I cannot be generous with yours. It’s often hard to give away one’s own money, but always very easy to support the forced taking of someone else’s in the name of charity — you get to feel pious and morally superior at the same time without any real sacrifice on your part.
