Regular readers will recall that earlier this year I participated in ACCR’s mock constitutional convention here in Alabama.  Left in Alabama blogger Countrycat also participated.  Two weekend sessions and a number of conference calls later a complete draft of a mock Alabama constitution was written.  You can read it for yourself at Doc’s Political Parlor.  Please take some time and read through the various sections and leave your thoughts in the comment section.

The ACCR proposes to ‘repeal’ the Alabama Sanctity of Marriage Amendment, allowing for the legislature to pass gay marriage. The Sanctity of Marriage Amendment passed in 2006 with 81% of the vote – it is troubling to me that the ACCR Convention is ignoring the people of the State and is trying to sneak in liberal laws.
