Is this really happening in Alabama?
2009 May 12
Sheffield, which sits alongside the Tennessee River in northwest Alabama, wants to create an entertainment district in their downtown area. As part of their zoning changes they plan on, get this, allowing lounges and banning new churches. Certainly isn’t every day that a municipal government in this state expands access to booze while simultaneously restricting new churches. The problem, as Sheffield officials see it: churches don’t bring in the tax revenue the city craves.

Sheffield is about 20 years too late in trying to ‘revitalize’ the their downtown area. Access to ‘Booze’ is definetly not a problem in Sheffield; there are enough shady doctor’s offices around downtown to take care of your prescription drug needs and desires.
I am excited about this new projects that our city is working toward. Yes, there are shady doctors in and around the area, however; with much effort we will see this area turn around. What town doesn’t have Doctor’s who try to beat the system? Progress does take time… Each step toward making this place a talked about location is in the works. I’m so excited to be a part of this, and am working toward creating my own establishment. This is a depressed area, but with much devotion and hope to revitalize we will see this area once again become a well respected, well liked… and admired area. Evidently, the above post does show there are those who don’t favor change. Talking about the area, as noted above, does definitely indicate the nature of this person, shall I say he or she maybe once lived here and frequent the doctors? Why dog our attempt? Maybe they have been here, maybe they saw what once was, but just wait…the time is now!!! We will be Styled with Pride…
