Oh great, now people are paying attention to the so-called Employee Free Choice Act

Back during the campaign between Parker Griffith and Wayne Parker I tried multiple times to find out where Griffith stood on the “Employee Free Choice Act.”  His campaign didn’t respond to me.  Televised forums between the candidates ignored my submitted question – they thought it was more important to ask things like, “What is your favorite color?”  My motivation was pretty simple.  This bill would destroy the secret ballot used to form a labor union, thus opening the door for abusive, coercive practices by union thugs to pressure workers into signing a union card.  And Griffith got a pretty good chunk of contributions from labor unions and individuals sympathetic to them.  I wanted to know where Mr. Independent stood and I thought it might provide one of the few stark position differences between the two men for voters to consider.  But, alas, we never learned where Griffith stood on the legislation.

Now with the Democrats firmly in control of both houses of Congress and the White House the bill is gaining a lot more attention.  I guess we’ll get to see where Griffith, a world renowned independent, stands on the legislation after all – even if it is too late.

In a sign of just how autonomous Griffith may really be, his first two votes as a freshman Congressman were for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker and for a “Pelosi-proposed rules package that does away with term limits for committee chairs and limits the minority party’s ability to offer some legislative motions.”  Pelosi thinks the “Employee Free Choice Act” is a top priority, by the way.

I am sure Miss America (Nancy P) and her droogies would be amenable to an amendment that just requires all elections for public office use paper ballots and that all of those ballots be scanned and posted on the Internet.  It is the same thing they want to do with the so-called “Employee Free Choice Act”.

Parker Griffith ran as a Democrat. Your question about the Employee Free Choice Act needed no more of an answer than knowing that.
