Siegelman reacts to Blagojevich scandal

A reporter asked former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman what he thought about the allegations that Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was soliciting a payoff in return for a political nomination. Siegelman responded, “I don’t see what the big deal is.”
*Not really. I just made that up, but it wouldn’t be surprising.
BTW, Lee has a couple of links discussing the legality, or at least the reality, of politicians getting something of value in return for a plum political job.

Lot of ways, law about quid pro quo does sound like the old standard for porn, “I know it when I see it”. Which, is not good, but, those whose job it is to fix it don’t seem interested.
