Dale Jackson Interviews Dr. Cotter
Posted by ReactionaryDr. Greg Cotter, one of the doctors named in the ‘Brady Report’, was interviewed this morning by Dale Jackson of WVNN.
What a mess. Cotter defended Dr. Griffith and threw Dr. Olive under the bus. Since the ‘Brady Report’ reviews Griffith and Olive together, that may be a fair argument. However, Olive was fresh out of school at the time and Griffith was the supervisor.
Cotter said that Dr. Brady and Dr. Perez were ‘hired guns’ who were brought in to force Griffith out. Cotter noted that the State Medical Board didn’t take any action against Griffith.
Dale Jackson asked “Did Huntsville Hospital, Dr. Brady, Dr. Perez, and Dr. Schneider conspire against Dr. Griffith?” Cotter replied “Yes”. Cotter then said that “Huntsville Hospital had an environment of corruption”.
IMO Huntsville Hospital has some explaining to do.
After receiving the ‘Brady Report’, why didn’t the Hospital report Dr. Griffith to the State Medical Board? If Griffith is the monster that Huntsville Hospital portrayed him to be, then why let him loose on an unsuspecting public?
Or is Griffith correct in his ‘economic credentialing’ defense (business competition)? Is Huntsville Hospital as corrupt as Cotter asserts? Were Brady and Perez stooges paid to lie about Griffith?

Wayne Parker had better tread carefully on this. So far the questions that have been raised about Griffith are relevent to this campaign. But politicians using cancer against their opponent can backfire. Remember Mr. Day and his ads against Senator Orr two years ago? I also remember the ads back in ‘94 that then US Senator Jim Sasser ran against some little known Vanderbilt Doctor named Bill Frist in the closing weeks of their campaign. I would hate to see this blow back on Wayne on election day. Parker Griffith is a fake conservative and it would be ashame if he wins.

I wrote about the Bobby Day attack ad back then. In that case Day threw out his shoulder reaching. Griffith is much more intimately connected to these charges.

Hospital politics can be very messy as can be disagreements between docs over what is appropriate therapy so, tread lightly.
As an aside, isn’t amusing that all of the Democrat’s congressional contenders are putting huge amounts of air between themselves and the top of the ticket.

Brian,
I was unfortunate enough to listen to a part of that interview, as well. It could have been much more informative had the interviewer been a tad less obnoxious.

Dale did a good job conducting the interview, however, Dr. Cotter did a very poor job! He dodged many questions and was so vague, when he did answer, that it was hard to follow his explanations. I just did not feel that he was on the up..plus he even admitted that he had spoken to Griffith earlier that morning!
