Posted by BrianHuntsville police ended a week-long undercover investigation by arresting two men and issuing warrants for 22 more in connection with alleged sexual misconduct at the Governors Drive Scenic Overlook, police said today.
“This detail was in response to complaints from citizens about homosexual activity that has been taking place at one of the community’s most scenic sites,” police said in a news release.
The Times also published the names, ages, and home towns of all the suspects. The list included an 84 year old man.
Seriously, if you want to have sex in the uncomfortably tight confines of a car then do it in your garage.

seriously…..is the worst crime you all have in north al people having consensual sex? why not have a sting to catch people who steal things. i think it is because the cops are kinky and like to watch

No, the crime is not as serious as thievery or murder, but the police were responding to multiple complaints from citizens. I think it is a good thing that our police are responsive to complaints of illegal activity even when it doesn’t involve a major felony.

Hmm, is the right to consensual sex outweigh the right of enjoy nature in peace and quiet? Is there a right to not receive invitations to sexual activity or witness it? Does the State have to respond to a consensus certain behaviors are troublesome in a democracy?
BTW, one of the small papers published the mug shots of two locals who were arrested in this matter.

bamalaw - can’t argue the issue - so instead call the cops ‘kinky’ voyeurs - I guess that’s a technique you learned in law school…
The problem is that this is a public park (a small overlook off US431 which has a spectacular view of Southeast HSV). Those people are interfering with the public’s use of the park.
The police also made arrests last year at the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge.
The Land Trust parks are the same way during the week - the public can’t go there (especially not with children) without encountering those people. Brahan Spring park has problems too, not only with those people, but with prostitution.
Huntsville receives accolades for being a ‘Green’ city because of our parks, but that means nothing if people can’t go to the parks. The only parks that are safe are those that have full-time staff, such as Monte Sano or the Flint River Preserve.

You do have a good point that certain behavior has been legally declared not to be performed in public and enforcing the law is what we pay cops to do.

Bamalaw, you obviously attended law skool at UAT. Your complete inability to present a logical argument involving facts gave you away. As suspected, you learned that when you can’t argue the facts, toss a few red herrings around and make ad hoiminem attacks. Your problem is that most reading this blog can reason and thus, summarily disregard your drivel. Next time you’re at the overlook, consider getting a room.
