Did China field underage gymnasts?
Posted by BrianSome reporters and people associated with the US women’s gymnastic team are suggesting that members of China’s team are under the legal age of 16. I thought the same thing. China, however, says the girls have valid passports showing they are or will be 16 this year. But hey, it’s not like China would fake anything to make these Olympics appear more favorable for them.

Did you see this story by the AP (http://news.yahoo.com/story//ap/20080814/ap_on_sp_ol/oly_gym_underage_chinese) which pointed out that the official state media had reported the ages of the girls to be well under age as recently as last November?

The Chinese seem guilty as sin on this one. We’ll see if they get officially sanctioned, though.
