Silver lining time
Posted by BrianThere is certainly no shortage of dour stories about the negative impact of high gas prices on, well, everything. That is the media’s forte, though, finding the worst in any situation. But there are a few headlines poking through that show some positive side effects of high fuel prices.
- $4 gas helping revitalize small towns - People are shopping locally instead of driving to larger cities.
- Traffic deaths fall as gas prices rise - 9% drop in motor vehicle deaths during first five months of the year.
- For Some Ohioans, Even Meat Is Out Of Reach - This is supposed to be a sob story, but more costly food is just what the doctor ordered for the, uhhh, rotund ladies in the accompanying picture.
