Majority of Americans are morons
Posted by BrianThat is the only logical conclusion from the headline of a Gallup study: Majority of Americans Support Price Controls on Gas.
If you are one of the 53% of Americans who favor price controls on gas (or anything else) then you are both an idiot and a danger to our economy. Please don’t vote for anything other than American Idol contestants.
20% of individuals actually favor gas rationing! I’m curious what the other 30% who think price controls are nifty expect would happen if the price controls were put into effect.

The number of people who believe the State rides a white horse and hands out silver bullets makes one wonder when “So this is how liberty dies - with thunderous applause”, becomes a real quote.

I wonder if that 53% means that they are all too young to recall the “wunnerful” days of Jimmy Carter and Richard Nixon who did establish price controls on products? In Carter’s case we ended up with government mandated “odd-even” days one could buy gas, long gas lines, and a time when smart capitalists were making a killing by opening gas stations who had no ration quantity assigned by the govt. They became underground suppliers to those who did have rationed supplies. It was an amazing racket which created a gas shortage that did not need to happen.

Regarding 1994 - you have to consider the alternative. Seriously, John Kerry?!

Walt,
Where did that thunderous applause quote come from?

Senator Amidala in Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
I try to forget the later star wars movies too.

At least John Kerry wouldn’t have used propaganda to take us to war. Yeah, John Kerry, seriously.
