Cheryl Baswell Guthrie has really deep pockets

2008 May 23

Cheryl Baswell Guthrie’s pre-primary FEC report is up and she blew away my guess about how much she has given to her own campaign.  Between April 1st and May 14th she contributed $256,200 to her own campaign.  She also contributed another $55,000 to her effort on May 19th according to her 48 hour report, bringing her total contribution for the race up to $311,200.

Guthrie also brought in $62,850 in contributions from individuals.  Her cash on hand as of the pre-primary report deadline was $11,870, which does not include the $55,000 infusion listed on the 48 hour report.

Ray McKee’s pre-primary report is also posted.  During this reporting period he received $10,205 in contributions from individuals and loaned himself a little over $11k, bringing his total personal loan amount for the race up to $65,674.  He has $15,885 cash on hand.

George Barry has raised a total of $18,621, mostly from individuals.  He only had $3,745 cash on hand at the end of the reporting period.

Angelo Mancuo’s financial summary showed a campaign loan of $120,000 in addition to $5,050 from individuals.  He still had a little over $65k on hand at the end of the reporting period.

    Brian,

If these candidates cannot avoid reckless loans and irresponsible fiscal habits before they get into Congress, how can we expect them to do so after they get into Congress?

    Sorry about that Brian…

Did you also notice that Cheryl Baswell Guthrie removed the press releases from her website claiming that she “raised” all that money? Hmm…
