A Conspiracy So Vast
Posted by BrianJohn Hinderaker of the Powerline blog has a great column in the Weekly Standard about Jill Simpson, Karl Rove’s supposed secret spy. Nothing new in the column, just a good synopsis of Simpson’s wildly dubious story.

Hinderaker is a puppet and a shill for Karl Rove, who should give it up and testify under oath in Congress. Trying to keep the focus on the whistleblower is their way of trying to find out what else she has on them.

I personally would like Rove to testify, but he doesn’t answer to me. I understand why he would be hesitant to do so, though. Congressional Democrats will use the opportunity to grandstand and most certainly try to ask questions that are outside the scope of the matter at hand.
The assertion that people are trying to smoke info out of Jill Simpson is ludicrous. A substantial portion of the “cause for concern” surrounding Siegelman’s prosecution comes from her insane claims. What she has said so far, as I’ve stated here many times, is absolutely unbelievable and uncorroborated. The only reason anyone might want to know more of her story is that it is an entertaining work of fiction.

Jill Simpson voluntarily testified UNDER OATH. If she lied under oath she would be tried for perjury. But wait, we don’t know if she’s committed perjury because Karl Rove refuses to testify.
Is it your assertion that Karl Rove should not testify under oath because Democrats might ask questions that “outside the scope of the matter”? What kind of excuse is that?
Karl Rove was ordered to testify today, what do you think he’s going to do?

I don’t have any insight as to what happens between Karl Rove’s ears. Maybe he’ll testify, maybe he won’t. I think the odds that Congressional Democrats use the opportunity to question Karl Rove in a professional, relevant, non-grand standing manner is somewhere between 0 and 0.00001%.

I think the odds that Karl Rove will even show up is somewhere between 0 and 0.00001%.
