The Ham made the NY Times for the festering financing fiasco down there.  I particularly like what Langford, who “oversaw the county’s finances,” said about the financial transactions he approved.

“I needed somebody to be able to tell me what all that stuff was,” Mr. Langford said in a deposition in June. “And even when they told me, I still don’t understand 99 percent of it.”

And to think the good folks in Birmingham elected him mayor. 

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: if you don’t understand a financial instrument DON’T SIGN IT!
