Upward mobility alive and well
Posted by BrianTo listen to the Democrats you would think that the greatest threat we face is some people having more than others. The class warfare rhetoric is predicated on the false notion that your lot in life is predetermined. The rich get richer, poor get poorer, and the middle class goes no where. Unfortunately the facts don’t bear out that notion here in America or globally.
Take a look at the twenty richest people in the world. Twelve of them earned their fortunes themselves. Even among those who inherited their wealth there are names like Lakshmi Mittal, the Indian oil magnate who is one of the world’s best businessmen - and most prolific spenders. He may have gotten a head start, but his own professional acumen has pushed him upward.

Guess they forget John Kennedy’s “A rising tide lifts all boats”. The cheapo chair, I’m sitting in probably is made with steel from Mittal, or the Chilean flower farms who are able to have free time to read Marx or Adam Smith because of silly Americans buying fresh produce in winter.
