What would Satan do?

First of all, since when is there a Church of Satan? I would think the leader would be excommunicated now for doing a good deed.
Andrew Culver, 18, told police the e-mail detailing his intention to kill his grandparents and steal their money and car was a joke, said Bazetta Township Police Chief Charles Sayers.
According to police, Culver wrote he had access to an arsenal of weapons and wanted to “kill in the name of our unholy lord Satan.”
Yeah, funny joke. Maybe he should stick to the ones where a rabbi and a priest walk into a bar.
[Peter Gilmore, the high priest of the New York City-based Church of Satan,] said members of his group are atheists who believe Satan is a symbol of freedom, not evil. “To the Satanist, he is his own God,” reads a statement on the group’s Web site from Gilmore.
Uhhh… What a load of hogwash. But thanks for doing the right thing anyway.

Don’t make the mistake of overly simplifying the beliefs of others based on your own biased perspective. The Church of Satan, as created by Anton Levay, never condoned harming others (unless, of course, they deserved it). The name “Satan” was chosen simply as the antithesis of the Christian ideals of obedience and servitude.
Satanists were categorized into three groups by the FBI in the 1980s (when investigating the eventually debunked claims of mass-Satanic ritualistic murder).
1. Rebellious Satanists. These are mostly stupid kids who simply use the word “Satan” to stir trouble although they normally pose no harm to others. The kid in your post would probably fit into this category except for the desire to kill his parents. The Church of Satan either fits into this category or the third, depending on who you ask.
2. Satan worshipers. The kid might fit into this category. For whatever unbalanced reason, these people actually see Satan as the same entity as the Christian boogeymen and like it. They want to slit their wrists and kill babies and live in hell. These are, by FAR, the least prevalent type and those of type 1 and 2 often hate to even be grouped in the same category as them. One group that fits this mold is the Order of the Nine Angels in the UK.
3. Luciferians. These are people who probably wouldn’t be called Satanists if (a) they lived in another society or (b) they didn’t sometimes refer to themselves as such. These are individualistic people who preach the power of the individual (as opposed to the obedience to higher power taught by most religions). The Church of Satan believes it is this type, but the Temple of Set is probably a better, less immature, example. Some are theistic, some are atheistic. The Temple of Set doesn’t care. The main aspects of it, according to the FBI’s Lanning report, is simply a semi-religious organization that teaches personal empowerment and improvement. Luciferians worship themselves (not Satan or anything else) unlike mainstream religions that often teach that you are inherently evil.
Honestly, I think all you religious types are part nuts. But I’ll be honest. Luciferians at least promise to leave me alone.

My post was not intended to be all that serious. Just the same, anyone who belongs to the Church of Satan (whichever sect)is a kook. I’m sure the “church” is full of people who are simply militantly anti-conformity and rebelling against the religious establishment is always in vogue for these folks.

The secret is that the actual Church of Satan (at least the group founded by LaVey) is full of people of the first category in an organization which attempts to be the third category.
There are many “Satanic” organizations which purport to be either the first, second, or third degree.
