Military favors Ron Paul over all other candidates

2007 July 17

According to the latest campaign finance reports, Ron Paul received more donations from active duty military personnel and veterans than any other candidate.  He received more than McCain and Romney combined and only a little less than the entire triad (McCain, Romney, and Giuliani).  The only Democrat even on the list was Bill Richardson.

How can this be?  I thought every red blooded American had to support the war unequivocally, otherwise they’re defeatist commies.  It looks like we must have a lot of defeatist commies in the military.  OR…  Maybe the military realizes that Paul’s foreign policy approach would keep them at home unless there was a just war to be fought.  Also, being a five year veteran of the Air Force, unlike chicken hawk Giuliani who courageously used student and civilian deferments to avoid the draft, Paul understands how to actually support the military.

Kudos to Steve Gordon.
