Hannity and Colmes exposes Judge Karen Hall
Posted by BrianFrom AL.com:
Fox News’ “Hannity & Colmes” news talk show was scheduled to focus its Friday night segment on a self-ordained Huntsville preacher who will serve no time in jail even though he pleaded guilty Monday to molesting three adopted boys.
Tom Holmes, a producer with show in New York, said the case of Jerry Wayne Love is the kind of story the show’s producers could not pass up.
Good for them. You can read my original post on this incident here.
We can partially rectify this situation by voting Judge Karen Hall (R) off of the bench. I’d vote for a sack of potatoes before I voted for her. Unfortunately we’ll have to wait until 2010 to get rid of her, but we can vote District Attorney Tim Morgan (D) out of office next year for allowing one of his attorneys to suggest probation for a habitual sex offender.

Brian,
I spoke with a DA friend of mine about this. His opinion is that Judge Hall has a reputation as a tough judge and was an effective sex crimes prosecutor before that. His impression was that the case was shaky and that the molested kids wouldn’t have been good witnesses. The conviction goes on Love’s record along with sex crimes registration; my friend thought that this was the best they could get.
My opinion is that the man should have been tried three separate times with the death penalty hanging over him for any two convictions.

Whatever reputation she had is down the tubes. There is no way that a case with three witnesses alleging multiple criminal sexual acts can be so weak as to merit only probation. If that is the best that the DA’s office can do then they need to do some house cleaning.
Maybe you should be a DA. Your idea is much better than what they came up with.

Hannity and COlmes has invited me to be a guest on their show tomorrow night to comment on this issue as well. Nothing confirmed yet but will post to my blog when/if it is confirmed.
