Ron Paul was on This Week with George Stephanopoulos yesterday.  During the interview this little exchange took place:

Stephanopoulos: What’s success for you in this campaign?

Paul: What’s success? Well, to win, is one, is the goal.

Stephanopoulos: That’s not going to happen.

Paul: Do you know for absolute? Are you willing to bet every cent in your pocket for that?

Stephanopoulos: Yes.

Paul: You are. OK. I thought so when I ran for Congress. I wouldn’t bet anything I could have been elected to Congress. The odds are great, the odds are difficult, and I know that. But I would say that what has happened so far has been about 100 times greater than I anticipated.

The way Stephanopolous said, “That’s not going to happen,” made him sound like a total jerk.  I was slightly surprised because the media types usually don’t make such statements because the price they pay if they are wrong, decreased access, is steep for someone in their profession.  It makes me want to contribute money and put a sticker on my car.  It all goes to the point of how the media in this country is trying to select our elected leaders for us rather than report and let us make the decisions.
