Au revoir to The Source

Birmingham’s 101.1 FM “The Source” is gone and has been replaced, for now, with Christmas music.  Supposedly the news talk shows will move to 850 AM.  I could care less about the majority of the programming, but I’m a big fan of Matt Murphy’s show.  His website doesn’t offer much insight into whether we’ll be hearing him again in the near future.  I personally think that he is good enough to have a syndicated show and now he may get to pursue that opportunity.

Brain I talked with Matt today and he will be on the 850 AM station and his time slot will be 2:00 – 6:00 pm.

So now worries, The Murphy Show will still be on the airwaves.

That’s good news Jeff – as long as I can receive that station up here in Huntsville! My wife and I will both go into withdrawal if we can’t listen to him.

Brian, how often are you called “Brain”?

So often that I didn’t even notice! If memory serves, I frequently spelled my name that way up until the fourth grade.

Did you mean “Christian music” or are they playing Christmas music year-round now?

    Just curious.

Yeah, Christmas music in this heat sounds a bit bizarre…..or maybe it’s just global warming giving us glad tidings.

    Brian the Brain:

Your cool banner that greets individual visitors by name is very welcoming, but it can lead the delusional among us into thinking we’re being individually recognized for our thought-provoking contributions.

    But it’s still very cool.

This is bad……………………. I liked Russ and Dee ( when they were there), I could tolerate Lee Davis, but I really enjoyed Matt Murphy. I read here he is going to 850 AM. I have read on another blog that he will be on 92.5 FM / 770 AM. ?? I guess we can keep checking his web site to see where he lands. If anyone reads this and they are like me, which means they only listened, never called and really never used the advertisers of The Source, I hope you have learned the lesson I have……………………. If you don’t participate and use the people who advertise this will happen again. I have learned my lesson, have you ??

9.25 FM / 770 AM WVNN is a local Huntsville area talk station. From what I understand, Murphy will be on a different 92.5 FM station broadcast out of Birmingham.

The Huntsville 92.5 FM has Sean Hannity on from 2-5 pm and since Sean got his start at the station I seriously doubt they would quit running his show.
