Amity Shlaes has a great column in the Wall Street Journal that takes a fresh look at FDR.  It’s worth a read, but here is a single line that gives the flavor of the piece.

The incredible rightness of FDR’s war policy obscures the flaws in his prior actions.

FDR -knew- that the Japanese were going to attack Pearl Harbor. This journalist (author of ‘Day of Deceit: The Truth about FDR and Pearl Harbor’) says so, and he’s a JOURNALIST!!!

    Heh -”for the most part”-
