A full term what?
A former classmate of a man suspected of murdering a pregnant woman was arrested Sunday on a related obstruction of justice charge, the FBI said.
Myisha Ferrell was arrested hours after the body of 26-year-old Jessie Davis was found in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, still carrying her dead, nearly full-term fetus.
…
Thousands of volunteers searched for Davis for several days, while investigators questioned Bobby Cutts Jr., 30, a police officer who is Davis’ boyfriend and has an estranged wife. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on charges of murdering Davis and her fetus.
Cutts, of North Canton, is Blake’s father, and relatives have said they believed Cutts also fathered the fetus Davis was carrying.
I usually don’t comment on such things, but that has got to be some of the most awkward writing I’ve ever seen. Is it really that hard to call it a baby? Could you image asking a woman who is nine months pregnant, “How’s your fetus doing?”
All three of our children were born earlier in the gestation period than the “fetus” that was killed with Jesse Davis. All three were healthy and required no unusual medical assistance. In light of that, it seems a bit cold to starkly label a label a person that is completely capable of surviving outside of the womb as a fetus. Don’t get started on the “that’s the technical definition” crap. Journalists are so loose with technical details when it comes to engineering related stories that it isn’t funny. They choose to use the terminology in this case to push their agenda, or at least to avoid yielding any credence to agendas they oppose.
