Brian, I'd love to see a test of automatic birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment ("subject to the jurisdiction thereof"). The guys (Bingham, Howard) who wrote the Amendment didn't intend for it to cover foreign nationals.

Reactionary, one of Paul's best ideas for dealing with illegal immigration is revoking automatic birthright citizenship. I don't have a problem with allowing people here legally being eligible, but it is foolish to reward people who illegally cross our borders to have children. They effectively use it as a ploy to curry favor with the public, "You can't deport me! I have a child who is a citizen!" I find that argument specious to begin with. We don't let other criminals off without penalty because their children would be parentless. You should think of your children (even the unborn ones) before you do the crime.

Dan, it was a great quote. It is shameful how the GOP at large regards him because of his RIGHT position on Iraq despite nearly every other item on his platform being a "conservative's" dream.

Maverick Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul finds that being right is the one thing his party won’t forgive.

Best quote ever. I think I'm actually going to send Paul some money. I also need to try to contact his campaign to do some sort of interview. I just don't know what sort of format a blog interview would take. Maybe the standard Dan: Paul: fair that magazines do?

FYI, I talked to some Ron Paul supporters (small business owners) on my recent trip to Murfreesboro, AR. They even had the bumper sticker and campaign buttons.

I like Rep. Paul's ideas on immigration as described in the article.
