… the award goes to: Russ Federman, director of counseling and psychological services at the University of Virginia.  Dr. Federman offered up this doozy of a statistic:

Dr. Federman ticked off statistics from a recent survey about the extent of mental health problems on campuses. He said that 94 percent of students reported feeling overwhelmed by all they have to do, and that nearly 50 percent reported having felt so depressed that it was difficult to function.

I would argue that if you go to college and don’t feel overwhelmed that you are not applying yourself.  Whatever “overwhelming” feeling college students might have will be far exceeded when they enter the real world and realize that they didn’t know what pressure was.
