I kind of hate having good legislators
Posted by BrianSometimes, especially during the recent 62% pay raise, I kind of yearn to be represented by a “bum” legislator who I could call up and chide for his/her votes. But, I have the dubious distinction of being represented by two fine legislators: Mike Ball and Arthur Orr. Both just introduced bills in their respective chambers that would force lawmakers to report all income they receive from the state. This legislation could shame some of the numerous double dippers to quit their secondary jobs.
Ball recently told me that he was going to go after double dippers and he appears to be making good on his promise.

Most people seem to be happy with the legislators in their district. It’s everyone elses’ districts that are screwd up.
Except for me. I can’t stand either of my guys.

Yeah, yeah. Everyone else always elects the bums. I would relish getting to throw stones at a bum for a full term.

Ya’ll can come on down to Greensboro, Hale Co., and throw anything you want to at Rep. Ralph Howard and Sen. Bobby Singleton. Ralph is a decent enough young guy but no backbone and I won’t even bother to get into my opinion of Bobby but “self-serving” is accurate enough. Oh, I could mention that he won his seat with 1,143 absentee ballots (41.6% of the total votes cast for him in Hale Co. alone). Both got their payraise and Ralph was double-dipping at Shelton St. for awhile.
