Sen. Shelby announced his latest pork project: money for a tram from the Space and Rocket Center to the Botanical Gardens right here in Huntsville.

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center learned today it will receive nearly $227,000 in federal money toward a proposed tramway to connect the Space Center with the Huntsville Botanical Garden.

U.S. Sen. Richard Richard [sic] Shelby, R-Tuscaloosa, announced this morning that the money is being released by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration.

I’m sorry, but I can’t think of a single reason why this project should be paid for with federal money.
