Buying votes for a couple of bucks
Posted by BrianThe Government Dependency Fair Minimum Wage Act passed in the House today by a vote of 315-116. The act calls for the federally mandated minimum wage to be increased to $7.25 per hour over the next two years.
The entire Alabama delegation voted for the bill.
There’s a check in the minus column for Rep. Cramer.
Update: Talmadge pointed out an error in my original post (see comments) and I have modified the content.

I assume you are trying to smear Cramer with this, but the fact is that most Alabamians (and most Americans) regardless of aprty support a minimum wage increase. The 5 GOP Reps. are the ones that are out of touch not Cramer/Davis.

By the way, you were looking at the wrong Roll Call vote. Here is the actual vote and the entire Alabama delegation supported the increase.

First, thanks for pointing out the correct roll call. I wrote my post in a rush and made a mistake. Not the first or last time for that.
Why do you assume I’m trying to “smear” Cramer? Feel free to search my blog for any reference I’ve made to him and let me know when I haven’t been fair. I happen to like Bud Cramer. I know you’ve seen me defend him on another blog. I think he does a good job representing Alabama’s fifth district. I didn’t single out Davis, who also voted for it, because I just don’t really care since he doesn’t represent me.
That being said, he is my representative and it is entirely appropriate for me to document when he votes for and against bills I am interested in. The primary reason I started blogging almost a year ago was so that I could review my posts during election season in order to remember how my representatives voted on things I care about.
