Madison City School’s new superintendent, Dee Fowler, is receiving a very generous compensation package.

Madison City School board agreed to a two-year contract with its new superintendent, Dr. Dee Fowler, Thursday night.

The contract includes a base annual salary of $137,500, plus insurance benefits, a vehicle, cell phone, and a potential performance bonus. The bonus would be at the board’s discretion, based on the results of Fowler’s annual performance evaluation.

At least Fowler can afford to be well dressed when he goes before the city council and county commission incessantly lamenting the system’s financial situation.
