In case you couldn’t tell by my judgmental tone, I was shocked that anyone could be as stupid as the Albertville mother that we were led to believe was the victim of a stolen car and child.  Well, now both the mother and the boyfriend are being charged in connection with the child’s death.

GADSDEN - The mother of a 5-year-old Geontae Glass and her boyfriend are expected to appear in an Etowah County courtroom Tuesday on charges connecting them to the child’s death, District Attorney Jimmie Harp said today.
 
Charges are expected this afternoon against Shalinda Glass, 25, of Rainbow City and Kevin Andre Towles of Gadsden, Harp said. Both suspects were arrested early Tuesday morning at Glass’ apartment and are being held in the Etowah County Jail in Gadsden. Geontae’s body was found more than 18 hours after an Amber Alert was issued Monday after authorities say Glass and Towles staged a the child’s kidnapping.

I’m sure we’ll learn more of the boy’s fate and the mother’s role in the coming days.  Very sad situation indeed.
