From the Huntsville Times:

Q. Now that the Huntsville school system is into the school year, how many total students does it have?

A. Superintendent Ann Roy Moore said she’s got a total enrollment of 22,947 students enrolled in grades K-12 at Huntsville city schools. Total enrollment in Madison County schools is 19,222 and in Madison City Schools it’s 8,090, according to school officials.

Those enrollment numbers are up for each district (based on available data).

Huntsville’s enrollment was listed as 22,724 in their 2004-2005 annual report.  Madison’s projected FY 2006 enrollment was 7,601, but the last actual data available on their website is FY 2004, which was 6,935.  Madison County does not have enrollment data on their website.  About a month ago I called their office and they said the 2006 enrollment was 18,310.
