From the Montgomery Advertiser:

A loud “oh no” was voiced by Republican leaders Thursday as they realized that thousands of voters in heavily Republican Shelby County received a GOP flier urging them to vote for a Democrat.

Republicans issued news releases and held a news conference Thursday to try to offset any damage by the mailed flier from the Shelby County Republican Party.

It shows a sample ballot and marks the Republican candidate in every race except for Public Service Commission, where it endorses Democrat Susan Parker over Republican Perry Hooper Jr.

Both said the endorsement of Parker, mailed to 44,000 voters, was not intentional.
