This post was initially going to be solely about a lawsuit that was filed in Autauga County to get Lowell Barron’s (D) name removed from the November ballot.  But the last sentence in the article was a quote from Barron that made me sick.

“With the grace of God … I’ll keep bringing home the bacon, the pork.” - Lowell Barron

Politicians should not be in Montgomery or DC for the purpose of pilfering as much money as possible from the public treasury.  Get what your constituents need, not what you can.  Strive to minimize spending, staying within our means, and reduce taxes if possible.

Back on topic…

A hearing on a lawsuit seeking to remove state Sen. Lowell Barron, D-Fyffe, and three other Democratic candidates from the ballot next month will be held Oct. 31 in Autauga County.

Benjamin Russell Wood Jr., identified in newspaper reports as an Autaugaville farmer, filed the suit Oct. 13 against Autauga County Probate Judge Alfred Q. Booth and Alabama Secretary of State Nancy Worley, the state’s top elections official.

In his suit, Wood calls for the removal of Barron and Democrat state Sens. Roger Bedford, Zeb Little and Hank Sanders from the ballot for allegedly failing to report campaign contributions/expenditures as required under the state’s Fair Campaign Practices Act. Wood claims Worley violated the act by issuing a certificate of nomination for the four candidates to Booth and other probate judges. The election is Nov. 7.

Happy Halloween Sen. Pork King Barron!
