From WTOK:

The University of West Alabama is slated to get $493,614 through the U.S. Department of Justice, according to Alabama Sen. Richard Shelby. He said the money will help educate parents and students to improve their future job potential.

UWA will establish an on-campus resource center to provide information, education, training, and support for parents and students, and provide technical assistance and training to the Rendering Every Adult and Child Help (REACH) community Education Center in Livingston.

‘);UWA will also use the funding to purchase two fingerprint screening machines so that students and faculty can be cleared to work in these programs.

The Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 states that all teacher education and nursing students must be fingerprinted.

Federal money to help pay for state mandated programs.  Unbelievable.
