We've all heard that those who forget their history are condemned to repeat it.

What about people who let their history condemn them?

I suppose it sounds callous to say, "Hey, I didn't have anything to do with what my ancestors did to your ancestors.  Get over it."  But honestly, when can we finally put the past behind us?  Not forget it, just get beyond it.
